What is gratitude?

-Gratitude is the act of being thankful to people or things

 

Why is gratitude important?

-According to many studies, people who like to appreciating tend to be happier in their daily lives.

 

Benefits of gratitude

-Gratitude makes people away from toxic emotions

-Gratitude has a long effect on human brain

-Even without sharing, gratitude helps

-Benefits of gratitude take time

 

Examples of the benefits brought by gratitude

-Gratitude writing can be beneficial not just for healthy, well-adjusted individuals, but also for those who struggle with mental health concerns. In fact, it seems, practicing gratitude on top of receiving psychological counseling carries greater benefits than counseling alone, even when that gratitude practice is brief (Brown, J and Wong, J, 2017).

 

The Introduction of College Green:

-College Green is a public open space in BristolEngland. The Green takes the form of a segment of a circle with its apex pointing east, and covers 1.1 hectares (2.7 acres). The road named College Green forms the north-eastern boundary of the Green, Bristol Cathedral marks the south side, and City Hall (formerly the Council House) closes the Green in an arc to the north-west.

College Green is owned by the Dean and Chapter of Bristol Cathedral, and managed by Bristol City Council (2021, Wikipedia).

 

In College Green, you could walk into the Bristol Cathedral, sit down and do a meditation about gratitude, thinking about the people and things you want to appreciate in such a tranquil and solemn atmosphere.

 

Also, you could take a walk with your friends or family in the college green park, and enjoy the amazing sunset of Bristol. You can say some thankful words to the people you want to appreciate here, or just think those words in your mind, with the wonderful scenery and fresh air.
